Approaches

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
for raising awareness
Mysuru's natural heritage requires our collective care and stewardship to thrive. We organize a diverse range of activities including lake and canal walks, interactive workshops, educational seminars, documentary screenings, and exhibitions. These events are designed to deepen understanding among residents, students, and stakeholders about our city's water systems. By partnering with existing community groups and creating spaces for dialogue, we strive to build stronger connections between people and our water heritage. Our goal is to cultivate a shared sense of responsibility and inspire active participation in conserving these precious resources for future generations.
CITIZEN ACTION through collaborations
Mysuru's citizens have long demonstrated a deep connection to their natural and ecological heritage. From lake protection groups to birdwatching communities, nature walk enthusiasts, active press, and artists - our city's residents have consistently championed our environmental systems.
Through Water Forum, we amplify this spirit of active citizenship by connecting diverse stakeholders, supporting grassroots initiatives, and fostering partnerships between individuals, institutions, and citizen groups. Our strength lies in collective action - whether it's standing up to protect threatened water bodies or working together to revitalize heritage waterways like the Purnaiah Canal.

KNOWLEDGE BUILDING
& sharing
We believe that informed action starts with deep understanding. Through collaborative research, detailed documentation, and partnerships with academic institutions, we work to build a comprehensive knowledge base about Mysuru's water systems. Our approach combines technical expertise with local wisdom, bringing together practicing architects, engineers, ecologists, educators, and researchers. We conduct area-based studies, create accessible resources, and publish findings that bridge the gap between expert knowledge and public understanding. This research forms the foundation for evidence-based conservation efforts and helps inform both community initiatives and policy decisions.
